The clock is now ticking down to the start of the heats in this years Coral Regency, and greyhound fans across the land are taking advantage of the generous odds on that event at betting sites such as both Coral and BetFred.
Taking ante post betting odds is of course a risky business, however those risks are outweighed by the higher odds available by betting on the greyhound you think will win or get placed early, and for reference the Betfred each-way terms and one quarter of the win odds to four places too.
To be honest the early money hasn’t been pouring in for any one greyhound, however, there does of course have to be a favourite and currently the one with the shortest odds available on the ante post betting markets is Magical Icarus at 9/2.
Looking at the past form of any greyhound is probably something you should at least do when betting on events like this, and as such when you do you won’t be too surprised that the second favourite on the early betting markets is Stardom at 5/1.
Third and Fourth Favourites
There are no shortages of other greyhounds that do have the form to win an event such as the Coral Regency and as such let me give you some ideas of just which greyhounds are currently the third and fourth favourites to win, the third favourite is Roxholme Poppy at 6/1.
The odds will jump in value if you fancy backing any of the other greyhounds outside of the first four in the betting, but just so you know it is Antigua Fire at 7/1 that is currently chalked up as the fourth favourite to win , but those odds are of course subject to change at any time.
Best Each-Way Betting Opportunities
I would certainly consider playing a couple of each-way bets on this event on the ante post betting markets for the odds on any of the greyhounds that do fly through their heats are never going to be as high as they are right now.
As for just which of the other greyhounds not ye mentioned that are going to be worth placing an each-way bet on, well there are plenty of them to pick and choose from and one that does instantly spring to mind is the current 10/1 shot that being Affleck Bolt.
Looking at the make-up of this event and the form of Brigadier Bullet that is another greyhound I do know some punters will be backing each way and if you do get a move on then will be able to take advantage of 12/1 right now if you do fancy its chances.
Moving onto a couple of greyhounds that are easy to back right now at odds of 14.1 they are Clares Kyletaun and Goldie’s Hotspur, and I do think that either of the current 16/1 could also fly through their heats too and those two greyhounds are Shotgun Happy and Roxholme Butt at 16/1.
