There are just ten horses that are going to be lining up to take their chances in this year’s Irish St Leger, and you have until 16:30 this Sunday to make up your mind as to which one to back!
That is of course when the race will be starting and it is over the challenging course at the Curragh that race will be being run. As for which horses are in with a chance of winning, when any of the ten runners could come out on top and pass the finishing post in front.
But it is Flag of Honour that have been popular with ante post punters who have been backing it at some large odds over the last few months, so much so that the best odds you are going to be able to secure in Flag of Honour winning are around the 13/8 mark.
Those odds I do feel are slightly overpriced for if the volume of cash being placed on it in the last week or so continues they could start to drop, be aware that you can still get odds of 13/8 on it winning if you get yourself over to the NetBet betting site sooner rather than later, and make use of the Irish St Leger ante post betting market.
Will Latrobe Worry the Favourite?
Whilst it does appear that the horse with the best form in this race is Flag of Honour, when you look at the bare form of Latrobe, you will see there is not much separating that horses form the favourite, and it may just be Latrobe that you fancy backing.
As for what odds you are going to secure, well that all depend on where you choose to place your bets and wagers, and by choosing NetBet you will have no problems getting odds of 11/4, if you bet now via their betting site or betting app, but those odds could go in either direction at any time, so do keep that in mind too!
Weekender is in with a Chance of Winning
The only other horse that could win, from a strictly form point of view is Weekender and with odds of 7/2 on offer on it that does give you a very clear indication of the volume of wagers placed on it from other punters.
As for what odds you are going to get on each of the other horses well it is Idaho at 9/2 that is next in the betting market followed by Twilight Payment at 15/2, a far bit of cash has also been placed on Southern France at 9/1 too.
By betting each-way by the way at the NetBet betting site you will be able to get one fifth of the win odds on the place part of such a bet to three places, which means the likes of The Pentagon at 18/1, Nelson are 22/1 and possibly Kew Gardens at 33/1 or the rank outsider that being Cypress Creek at 80/1 could be worth a small speculative punt.
