It is certainly never too early to bet on any team you fancy winning the Division One of the County Championship, in fact the best odds are usually on offer on the futures betting markets, and if you do have your eyes on one team then now is when you should be backing them to win the title.
However, unlike Division 2, there are several teams that are in with a chance of winning and with betting sites offering one fifth of the win odds and as they are paying out to three places too, there could be some value backing a couple of the outsiders at big odds.
There is one team that is only just leading the betting markets and that is Surrey at 5/2, but keep in mind if they do start to win their upcoming scheduled matches those 5/2 odds will not be around for much longer and will of course start to drop!
The is also a chance that the current second favourite that being Somerset could soon become the favourite to win if they do perform well moving forward and if you are of the mind they are going to do well this season you can back them at betting sites and sportsbooks such as Coral at odds of 3/1 right now.
Third and Fourth Favourites
The odds do grow on the third favourite but not by much, and as such if you think that it will be Yorkshire that are crowned champions this season then they do look a rock-solid bet right now at their odds of 4/1!
The fourth favourite to win the title this season are Hampshire, however there are going to be risks of betting on them, for their odds of winning are 7/1, but those odds are there for the taking if you do fancy backing them!
The Four Other Division One Teams
There are some punters out there that are prepared to mop up the each-way betting value of some of the lesser fancied teams, and there is nothing stopping you joining them if you fancy backing any of the outsiders, and the odds are tempting on each of those four other teams by the way.
The next team in the betting are Essex and they look an interesting each-way bet if you do find a bookie offering three places, for their odds are 8/1, in fact not that far behind them are Nottinghamshire at 9/1, and I am sure plenty of fans of that team have already mopped up those odds of 9/1 on them winning the title this season.
As for the last two teams in Division One, well I will leave it up to you whether to back them or not suffice to say Kent are one of those two teams and their win odds do give you an insight into their chances of winning and those odds are 16/1 and then you have the complete outsider and that is Warwickshire whose odds are 20/1 right now!
