There is still a little bit of value to be had by betting on the European Darts Championship on the early betting markets, but to ensure that you can secure the odds available you are going to have to get a move on as it will soon be in full flow.
As for which players punters are backing currently, well there is one player that is attracting the most early support and that player is as expected Michael van Gerwen, and I have still seen a number of betting sites and bookies that are prepared to lay odds of 6/5 to punters.
If you do however fancy taking your chances on some of the many other experienced darts playing in that event then consider backing them each-way, as by doing so you will find most bookies are going to be paying out to two places this year and at one third of the win odds too.
I will leave it up to you however as to whether you do place an outright winner type of bet or an each-way bet or even leave this major darts event well alone, however for those of you that do fancy betting on it below are the generally available odds on most other players that are going to be taking part in it later on this week.
Peter Wright is the Second Favourite
He is often the bridesmaid so to speak to Michael Van Gerwen, however there is always going to be the chance that Peter Wright could beat him and win this darts tournament this week.
If you think his day will finally come and he will win then do some shopping around for you are going to find some betting sites will be offering you odds that are as high as 9/1 on him doing just that.
More Players That Could Win or Come Second
There are two other players that do have a reasonable chance of coming first or second this year but at some much bigger odds than the first and second favourites and they are Rob Cross who is available at odds of 11/1 and Gerwyn Price who is a 12/1 shot.
You may fancy placing a few each-way bets on the players with mush higher odds attached to them and if so then two that do appeal to some punter include players such as Daryl Gurney and Mensur Suljovic and you can get odds on either or both of them right now of 18/1.
The next few players in the betting who are not really attracting much support on the early betting markets for that major sports events include Dave Chisnall and Nathan Aspinall who are both up for grabs at odds of 20/1 and Glen Durran, Ian White and Michael Smith who are all chalked up at odds of 25/1.
