Most punters will leave it to the last minute to place a football related bet, but make no mistake about it, if you are thinking of backing any team to be crowned champion of any football league this upcoming football season, then you should be backing them nice and early.

Do spend a little bit of time hunting around and comparing the odds on any team you fancy backing to win the English Championship outright or who you want to back each-way, as that way by doing so you will be able to find just which bookies are offering the very highest possible odds.
Teams that are being backed each-way by many punters at this very early stage of the betting include the likes of West Brom at 10/1 and Cardiff at 11/1, and plenty of fans of Stoke will be taking the 12/1 odds on offer on that team and some punters will be prepared to pin their hopes on Middlesbrough at 14/1 too.
Outsiders and No Hopers
The odds available on teams such as Brentford, Derby and Huddersfield are around the 16/1 marl and if you fancy the chances of teams such as Bristol City, Sheff Wed and Nottingham Forest many bookies will be offering you odds or around 20/1.
However, the best value from all of you out there that fancy backing any of the other teams playing in the English Championship will be found over on the Betfair betting exchange, for they are going to be offering much higher odds than Swansea at 25/1, Preston at 28/1 and Birmingham at 33/1 and you will find teams such as Luton, Hull and Blackburn who are 40/1 at most betting sites will be on offer at much higher odds on the betting exchange at Betfair.
The last few teams that I haven’t yet mentioned are the outsiders to win and they are of course Reading and QPR who for reference are 50/1 and also Millwall, Charlton and Wigan at 66/1 and Barnsley at 80/1 too.
