It will be at the Leopardstown racecourse over in Ireland on Sunday the 3rd of February that the Irish Gold Cup will be being run, and that race will be starting at 15:35 and is of course the featured race of the day on the racecard.
Having been to Leopardstown a few times on Gold Cup Day over the last few years, one thing I have noticed is that there are a huge number of punters at the course and there can be and often is a huge number of fluctuations regarding the odds on offer, often with them changing just before the race starts, as punters latch onto any of the runners.
With the above in mind it could be quite beneficial for you to make use of the ante post odds that Ladbrokes are offering their customers as they do have a very attractive early betting market available on that race.
As for which horses are currently being backed early, well you will find that out before, but also keep in mind that there are no ends of each-way betting opportunities available on that race, and that does of course mean by betting early you could lock in a great deal of value, if your chosen horse moves downward in value.
Outright Winner Betting
Looking over the form of the horses in the Irish Gold Cup I am more than confident several of them will stand out as potential betting opportunities, but you are faced with trying to work out which one will come out on top and win of course.
The money has been coming in for several runners already and the one that has attracted the most early support is the current 7/2 favourite that being Road to Respect and the next two horses in the betting are Presenting Percy and Al Boum Photo who can both be backed at odds of 5/1.
Kemboy at 11/2 is another runner that could handle the track and with quite easily, and having said that a case could also be made for the current 6/1 Bellshill who I do know many punters have in mind as a potential winner, and then you have the likes of Monalee at 8/1.
Betting Each-way on the Irish Gold Cup
You will get one fifth of the win odds on the place part of any each-way bets that you place at Ladbrokes and that bookie is also paying out to three places too, and with that in mind both Total Recall and Anibale Fly at 12/1 looks very interesting.
There is a case to be made for Balko Des Flos at 14/1 getting its head up into one of the first three places at the winning post; however that horse is going to need quite a bit of luck in running to do so.
Other horses that may just be worth backing including Waiting Patiently at 16/1 and whether The Storyteller, Killultagh Vic and Outlander at 20/1 are going to be up to a race of this nature remains to be seen of course!
