When it comes to horse races held in the UK, there are some that are very well known and do get a lot of attention from punters and fans of the sport alike, but one Group 1 race that you may have heard of before is the Lockinge Stakes which is held each May.
That is a race in which the horses must be four years of age and over, and as such the runners do have experience under their belt and therefore it is often the better fancied horses that tend to go on to win rather than a rank outsider.
Newbury is the racecourse that hosts the Lockinge Stakes each year and with a very stiff one mile course facing each of the runners and riders it really is a great race to watch and one that does offer plenty of betting opportunities of course.
Ante post betting opens well in advance of the race actually starting and those betting markets are often where punts will get a very good idea of where the smart money so to speak is going. Most betting sites and betting apps will also offer their customers best odds guarantees on this race on the morning on the race.
