Royal Ascot Day Three

I do have to say that this year’s Royal Ascot meeting has been one of the best ones I have seen for many a year, and I do hope you have been having at least a little bit of luck on any horses you have been backing there!

However, time waits for no man as the saying goes and as such it is day three of that festival of flat racing we have now arrived at, and much like the last couple of days there are plenty of betting opportunities available to punters.

The first race of the day today is the Royal Ascot 14:30 race and whilst that race does not have a large number of runners in it, it is a puzzling one for the odds compilers, so much so they are currently going 4/1 on the favourite that being Konchek.

That has to be one of the best valued bets of the day and if you have just one bet today then I think it may just be worth betting on that horse if you can get the 4/1 on the early betting markets!

In fact, the second race of the day that being the Royal Ascot 15:05 race is another one on which there is a lot of differences in opinion as to the likely winner of that race, however looking at the form and running style of Key Victory that is where my money will be going for sure, and it is currently available at high odds of 9/2.

Will Wild Illusion or Sun Maiden Win the 15:40 Race?

In the Royal Ascot 15:40 race there is nothing separating Wild Illusion and Sun Maiden in the early betting markets for both horses are available at odds of 11/4, and looking at the makeup of that race I am convinced that it will be those two horses that will be battling out the finish.

Later on in the afternoon we have the Royal Ascot 16:20 race, and that race too is a very tricky one to call, but there are only two horses that are running in it that have the form to win a race of this nature and they are Order Of St George and Stradivarius, their odds though are not as generous as they could be both being offered at odds of 15/8!

Huge Odds on the Runners in the 17:00 Race!

The biggest field of runners today at Royal Ascot is in the 17:00, but big fields does mean huge odds and that is certainly the case on the early betting markets this morning, for there are two current joint favourites that are on offer at odds of 8/1 and they are George Of Hearts and Crack On Crack On, both of which could easily win this race.

The last race at Royal Ascot today is the 17:35 race and this is a race the bookies may just fear for there is a very good chance that Cross Counter could win it, and if lots of punters have taken the early odds of 11/2 on it winning they will be facing a huge pay-out liability!
