The twelfth edition of the Players Championship darts tournament will soon be upon us, in fact it will be up and running on the 22nd of this month, so for those of you thinking about placing a bet on it you have plenty of time to do just that.
It is over at the Butlins holiday resort in Minehead that it will be staged at, and it is a dart tournaments that has been in the making all years as it is the top 64 players who did well in the 30 Players Championship events over the last year that are going to be taking part in it.
You can of course place an outright winner bet right now on any player you do fancy the chances of, or you can pick out a player to be placed in first or second place by placing an each-way bet.
However, you are also going to be able to bet on any individual match that will be in play during the tournament, and below I am going to be looking at the matches that will be making up day one of that event, and letting you know which players should win each of those matches and their current odds to do so too.
Top Bets for Day One
The first matches of the day on day one include the Dimitri van den Bergh v Stephen Bunting match and Van De Bergh faces an easy task in that match and should win at his current odds of 4/5 and it will be worth backing Darius Labanauskas who is the 1/2 favourite to win in his match against Harry Ward too.
Another player that is my opinion should win too is Jose De Sousa and you should be happy with his 2/5 for all things considered he should easily beat James Richardson in that match.
Other Matches Worth Betting On
Do make sure that you hunt around for the best odds if you do fancy betting on any of the upcoming day one matches in this major darts tournament, and one site that is offering some decent odds on each of those match is Coral.
They are offering odds of 2/5 which are decent enough on Glen Durrant winning his match against Scott Baker and they are also offering odds of 4/5 on John Henderson who should in my opinion beat Ryan Joyce in their match with great ease.
Some other matches and players that should be worth betting on include Max Hopp who is going to take some beating at his odds of 4/5 in his match against Jelle Klaasen and there is no doubt in my mind that Dave Chisnall at odds of around the 1/5 mark is going to beat Matthew Edgar on day one.
Another player that does have a stand out chance of winning and should do is Ian White but you are not going to be offered huge odds on him winning his day one match, and those odds will be around 2/5 and his opponent on day one is for reference Devon Petersen.
